President Donald Trump has tapped former Fox News executive Bill Shine to join the White House staff.

According to a statement from the White House, Shine will serve as assistant to the president and deputy chief of staff for communications.

The release says Shine will bring over two decades of television programming, communications and management experience to his new job.

The position has been vacant since Hope Hicks resigned in March.

The first person President Trump named for the job, Jason Miller, took himself out of contention. So Sean Spicer worked double duty as press secretary and director of communications for the start of the administration. Then there was Mike Dubke for about three months, Anthony Scaramucci for only 10 days, and Hicks for about eight months.
