On Saturday, President Donald Trump weighed in on abortion in a tweet, saying he believes it should be allowed in a few specific cases.

He said, "As most people know, and for those who would like to know, I am strongly Pro-Life, with the three exceptions - Rape, Incest and protecting the Life of the mother - the same position taken by Ronald Reagan."

Just a few days ago, Alabama's governor approved a law that would almost completely ban abortions in the state, including in cases of rape and incest.

While that law is not expected to stand in the face of upcoming legal battles, the measure's backers have said that their goal is to overturn Roe v. Wade.

Alabama is not the only state to tighten abortion restrictions in recent months. Georgia's governor recently signed a "heartbeat" bill that would ban the procedure after a fetal heartbeat is detected, that's around six weeks. Missouri's state legislature has sent a similar bill banning abortions after eight weeks to its governor for a signature. And Louisiana is sending a "heartbeat" bill of its own through its legislature.
