U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May's Cabinet has approved a Brexit withdrawal agreement. The U.K. and EU drafted the deal after months of negotiations and apparent impasses.

On Wednesday, May said the nearly 600-page deal was "in the best interests of our entire united Kingdom." She said, "the choice was [between] this deal, which enables us to take back control and to build a brighter future for our country, or going back to square one with more division, more uncertainty and a failure to deliver on the referendum."

The deal guarantees no hard border between Ireland and Northern Ireland — which was a major roadblock in previous negotiations.

The draft agreement will now head to EU member states with just over four months before the U.K. is set to break up with the EU. It will need all 28 of their signatures, as well as approval from the European and British Parliaments, to pass.
