The Golden Globes Honored Lots Of Strong Female Stories This Year

The female-centric "The Handmaid's Tale" and "Lady Bird" took home some of the top prizes of the night at the 75th Golden Globe Awards.

Strong female characters were the name of the game at Sunday's 75th Golden Globe Awards.

On the TV side, Hulu's "The Handmaid's Tale" took home the top prize for best drama series, while Amazon's "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" won for the best TV comedy or musical.

And HBO's standout "Big Little Lies" almost swept the limited series category, taking home trophies for best actress, best supporting actor, best supporting actress and best limited series.

Over on the movie side of the evening, the coming-of-age story "Lady Bird" won for best musical or comedy motion picture. And "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri" starring Frances McDormand was honored with the same prize on the drama side.
