Comic book creator Stan Lee has died. He was 95 years old.

Lee worked in the comic book industry for decades and helped create several famous Marvel superheroes, including Spider-Man, Hulk, Iron Man, the Fantastic Four and the X-Men.

He briefly held the position of president of Marvel Comics but served as its publisher for more than 20 years.

Later, he served as the public face for the franchise, attending comic book conventions and making cameo appearances in almost every Marvel movie.

Lee was awarded the National Medal of Arts honor in 2008.

His wife, Joan Lee, died in July 2017. They were married for 69 years.

He is survived by his daughter.
