"Sex and the City" star Cynthia Nixon is running for governor of New York.
"We want our government to work again, on health care, ending mass incarceration, fixing our broken subway," she said in a video announcing her candidacy on Twitter.
She's running as a Democrat, which means she's challenging incumbent Andrew Cuomo in the party's primary election later this year. The general election is in November.
