The internet server that hosts the controversial social media platform Gab has reportedly been subpoenaed by Pennsylvania's attorney general. Domain provider Epik took Gab on as a customer after the social network went offline following last month's deadly shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue. Gab faced scrutiny when it was revealed the suspect in the shooting had a profile on the platform and used it to post anti-Semitic messages. Epik's move is what prompted the state's attorney general, Josh Shapiro, to start the probe. A spokesman for the office confirmed to media outlets that a subpoena was issued but didn't give any other details about the ongoing investigation. According to outlet Ars Technica, the subpoena seeks "any and all documents which are related in any way to Gab." It's not clear what Shapiro might do with that information. So far, Epik hasn't publicly responded to the probe.
