The youngest Nobel Prize laureate ever asked President Trump on social media to reconsider his executive order on refugees.

"In this time of uncertainty and unrest around the world, I ask President Trump not to turn his back on the world’s most defenseless children and families," she said.

Malala Yousafzai emphasized how "heartbroken" she was over the decision.

The Pakistani activist and gun violence survivor runs the Malala Fund, an organization that aims to give all girls access to safe and quality education. The fund has a project that focuses specifically on Syrian refugee girls.

President Trump's order bans refugees from seven countries from resettling in the U.S. for the next 90 days and prevents immigrants from entering the country for at least 120 days.
