Fergie sang the U.S. national anthem at the NBA All-Star Game. And now she's apologizing for it.
The former Black Eyed Peas band member sang a "jazzy" rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner," and it didn't go over well.
Almost immediately, people on social media started mocking her performance, some calling it the "worst version" they'd ever heard. Several remixes of her presentation also made the rounds.
Fergie said in a statement that she was honored to sing the anthem but her rendition "didn't strike the intended tone." She said she tried her best.
