"The enduring relationship between our nations has never been stronger than it is now," Trump said.

U.S. President Donald Trump and British Prime Minister Theresa May held a joint press conference during Trump's visit to the U.K. And they touched on a variety of different topics — including NATO defense spending, immigration in Europe and Russia's alleged election meddling.

"I know you'll ask, 'Will we be talking about meddling?' And I will absolutely bring that up," Trump said.

Trump also addressed a controversial interview he had with The Sun soon after he arrived in the U.K. He told the tabloid May's soft Brexit plan could "kill" any possible trade deal between the U.K. and the U.S. But during the press conference, he said that's not the case.

"Once the Brexit process is concluded, and perhaps the UK has left the EU — I don't know what they're going to do, but whatever you do is OK with me," Trump said.

Trump is scheduled to leave for Scotland Friday evening. He is planning to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin next week.
