The Justice Department has agreed to let a federal court release three lists of court activity related to Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation.

The redacted Mueller report, which was released in April, said Mueller's team issued hundreds of warrants during the investigation. CNN — which requested the unsealing — said the lists could provide the public "a broader overview of how, when and for what Mueller was going to the federal court to gather evidence."

The news outlet also said the lists could reveal Mueller's methods for approaching technology and communication companies in the investigation.

On Tuesday, the Justice Department asked for three weeks to redact some information about ongoing law enforcement efforts. A judge approved the request.
