Think you can only see Wakanda on the big screen? Not anymore. People are getting pretty creative in bringing the imaginary African nation from "Black Panther" into reality.
This pop-up bar in Washington, D.C., re-created Wakanda with themed outfits and decorations.
Even the music and cocktails paid homage to the story. But for people attending events like this, it's more than just a night of fandom.

"It allows us to connect with the motherland, if you will. And that's something a lot of us have never had the chance to do before," an attendee said.
And a charter school that describes itself as "African centric" transformed a theater in Chicago.
"It's a vision of black people in power, and of black people having control over their own destiny," said Carol Lee, co-founder of the Betty Shabazz International Charter School.
"Black Panther" has broken several records at the box office — including the largest Presidents Day weekend opening in history.
