The teen vaping epidemic isn't just limited to tobacco, according to a new analysis. Data from the 2016 National Youth Tobacco Survey show that almost one in 11, or 8.9 percent, of U.S. middle and high school students have reported using e-cigarettes to vape marijuana. Those most likely to use cannabis in the devices were males, current tobacco users and students who live with a tobacco user.E-cigarettes have been the most commonly-used tobacco product among middle and high schoolers for the past several years. The trend has concerned federal health officials, who say it can lead to nicotine addiction or other drug use. A recent study pointed to a link between teens' e-cigarette use and their likelihood of using marijuana later on. This study's authors say their findings could have something to do with changes to state marijuana legislation, which could give the impression that the drug is harmless.
